This will never get old, seriously click this link. I giggled. Hard. I love mums, especially my mum. She is amazing. And today is her Birthday. Sadly I'm a failure of a daughter because apparently studying for exams = forgetting all other information, including her birthday. I'll make up for it somehow, i just don't know how yet.
A good idea would be cookies right? But i don't think my mum is such a big fan of cookies. Well not sugar cookies anyway. If they're chocolate she'd definitely go for them though.

My mum also likes flowers, but i don't know how well they would fare in the post. Wilt and die, is the most likely consequence.

How about these Rose Sugar cookies from i am baker. They look like they'd be pretty simple to make, apart from the fact that i don't have an icing piping bag.
I am baker Amanda is literally a goddess at icing. She does this technique where she draws a thick icing outline of the area, then she fills it in with a more free flowing icing. The overall look is stunning.

I mean just check out how thick that icing layer is, with not even a sign of it wanting to run over the edge. I want her to teach me everything about cookies.
Now if i want to make cookies for my mum they have to travel well in the post right? Well apparently some bakers are amazing at sending the most ridiculously shaped cookies in the post.

These cookies were sent to bakerella in the post, how did the flowers not fall out of the pots? It's literally a miracle, the amount of padding she must of used makes my brain squee. Think of all the bubble wrap. *pop* *pop* *pop*. Anyway Sweet Sugar Belle thought she may need some cheering up, as she's in desperate need of a kidney so not feeling so good. She even has a tutorial on her website here.

Right what else do mums like? i stumbled across this the other day during my internet wanderings and absolutely love it.

It's a little pill tin that you can fill with whatever pills get you going, tictacs, viagra, benzodiazepines, E, happy pills, The pill, literally anything you want.
I think my mum would just fill hers with painkillers though.
Although i did forget her birthday (until i saw my sisters facebook status) it could be worse. I could be one of these kids.

Fairplay though, they are pretty hilarious. Especially that girl on the left, because the other guys. Well not trying to be mean or anything. But they come across as Geeks.
Speaking of obnoxious children...

He would probably be the most difficult child ever, oh how i love misfits.
